Hyattsville police have arrested two men in connection with a robbery attempt that occurred earlier this month.
Jaison Knowlen Winters and Jermain Delonte Dixon are both charged with attempted armed robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Investigators say the suspects approached a man and woman as they were getting out of their vehicle in the 5600 block of 30th Avenue just before 10 p.m. July 8. One suspect approached the female victim while the other approached the male with a gun and demanded his property.
A struggle ensued, and the male victim was able to grab the weapon. Police say when the second robber approached the man, the victim fired at both men.
Winters is being held on $65,000 bond while Dixon is being held on no bond.
