A Virginia family escaped injury after a large tree fell on their home Saturday afternoon.
Officials said a 110-foot tree fell on a home in the 6500 block of Greenview Lane in Springfield, Virginia. Fortunately, the family was in the basement at the time the tree fell on the house.
The Northern Virginia Fire Buff Facebook page said the homeowners told firefighters, “It felt like a plane hit the house. There was a huge rumble.”
County building inspectors were called to the scene to take a look at the house.
