If you thought you might be able to avoid some traffic this weekend on your way to the grocery store, think again. Wegmans is opening a brand new store in Columbia, Maryland and that means a potential traffic jam.
The popular grocery chain opens at 7:00 a.m. Sunday and Howard County police are expecting a mad rush for the doors. The heaviest traffic is expected on Snowden River Parkway and McGaw Road, the intersection where the store is located. Obviously, you can expect some headaches trying to park too.
Police will be manning crosswalks and directing traffic to try to keep cars moving. If you want to check out the shiny new store make sure to give yourself plenty of time and plan ahead.
The new Wegmans is located at 8855 McGaw Road.
