Yellow Line trains are running again after passengers were forced to evacuate due to a small trash fire on the Metro tracks.

Metro reported that service was suspended between Mt. Vernon and Shaw-Howard stations about 7 p.m. Buses were requested to transport passengers.

A small, smoldering fire had erupted along a pocket track, DC Fire and EMS said. They extinguished the fire and service was restored about 8 p.m.
