Town Hall Addresses Concerns of Young Men of Color

The First Baptist Church of District Heights hosted part two of its "Saving Our Sons" town hall, Saturday afternoon.

The town hall provided platform for young men of color to express their concerns about police, crime and lack of opportunities and hear solutions from community leaders in Prince George's County.

“There are a lot of groups having conversations about young men of color, but very few are including them in the discussion,” said Pastor Bobby Manning, leader of the church and author of the book “Saving Our Sons,” in a statement. “Our goal is to provide a judgment-free zone where young men can express their thoughts, feelings and emotions in an open and honest way.”

Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks sat on the panel.
