Three Suspects Caught in Stafford Co. Bank Robbery

Three suspects involved in robbing the Union 1st Market Bank Monday afternoon have been caught, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Stafford deputies responded to a bank robbery call made by a Union 1st Market Bank employee saying a subject entered the bank and handed a bank employee a note demanding money. The subject then left the bank and began running through a field directly behind a bank.

Multiple units set up a perimeter and saturated the area to include K-9 units, the sheriff's office said.

Within 10 minutes of the robbery, police spotted a suspicious person matching the description of one of the suspects walking down Truslow Road and took him into custody.

Information gained from witnesses indicated the possibility of two additional suspects. Deputies, detectives, additional K-9 units and a helicopter from the Maryland State Police continued the search.

Four hours later, two additional suspects were spotted running into the woods in the area of Abel Lake. The two suspects were taken into custody in a secluded, wooded area near Abel Lake.

The Fauquier County K-9 Unit also assisted the search.

The investigation is ongoing.
