Three Men Wanted in Armed Carjacking in Bethesda

Police say an 18-year-old woman was carjacked at gunpoint by three men in Bethesda, Maryland, Wednesday night.

The incident was reported around 7 p.m. in the 7800 block of Hampden Lane.

The victim had just parked her SUV and was using her cell phone while the vehicle was running and unlocked, according to Montgomery County Police.

That's when, she said, a masked man opened her car door, pointed a gun at her head and demanded she get out of the car. A second man then opened the front passenger side door and grabbed her bag off the front passenger seat, police said. A third man was also present.

Later Wednesday, police spotted her 2011 dark red Volvo XC60 SUV in the area of 16th Street and East-West Highway in Silver Spring. They followed the SUV all the way to 14th Street and Primrose Road NW in D.C., where they lost track of it.

The car had Maryland license plates 1AE3792.
