Three Bodies Found in Manure Pit: Police

A father and his two sons were reported missing on Wednesday in Kent County

Three bodies have been recovered from a large manure pit in Kent County on Thursday morning, police say.

A 48-year-old man from Peach Bottom, Pa. and his two teenage sons were reported missing just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, according to officials. The father and his two sons were last seen at about 2 p.m. at a dairy farm located on the 12000 block of Vansant Corner Road in Kennedyville, Md. where they worked daily. Family members alerted police when the three men didn't come home in the evening.

A tractor was found still running beside a manure septic pond where the three were believed to have been working, police say.

Authorities say vacuum trucks from a nearby farm were called in to remove manure from the pit.
