Police are looking for three people who allegedly stole numerous things from inside vehicles after apparently getting inside homes to steal the keys.
Fairfax County police said officers from the West Springfield District have responded to at least 17 calls, including one where a car was stolen. In two of the cases, detectives said the thieves may have entered the homes to get keys to vehicles.
The stolen car is a black 2017 Ford Fusion with Virginia plates VUL-6720. Detectives said it has several stickers on the back and a cracked windshield on the driver's side.
Detectives want to remind everyone to keep vehicles locked, even in their own driveways, and keep all valuables out of sight. They said garage door openers should be kept inside the home when owners are inside, and the door from the garage to the rest of the home should be locked.
