WASHINGTON CITY PAPER GETS THE "GO-GO REPORT"
Every two weeks, a secret document gets passed around the D.C. MPD hierarchy: the “go-go report.” Prepared by the MPD’s hush-hush Intelligence Branch, the report details which bands are playing at which clubs, and when. Police officials have been compiling the reports for a while now, and they’ve claimed the work helps them tamp down violence by tipping off the cops about events that might attract feuding D.C. gangs. But MPD has never really discussed exactly what’s in the report, or released one publicly. (Washington City Paper)

COACH'S RESIGNATION FOLLOWS SIMILAR CASES ACROSS US
A recently hired Loudoun high school baseball coach whose biography did not match official records has resigned, putting him in a league with several coaches around the country discovered to have embellished their resumes.

A Times-Mirror article July 7 listed inaccuracies in the information Traelic Cotter submitted when he applied for the head coaching position at Tuscarora High School. In a biography sent to the Times-Mirror in June by Tuscarora athletic director Derek Farrey, Cotter claimed to have received several national awards while playing college baseball, although official records show that he received awards only at the conference level.
