16-Year-Old Boy Charged in Fatal Shooting of 43-Year-Old Man in Northeast D.C.

A 16-year-old boy shot a man to death early Wednesday morning in northeast D.C., police said. 

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, near Northeast Supermarket, at 12:52 a.m. They found Larry Harrell, 43, dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. 

Police quickly found and arrested teenage suspect Titus Iracks, charging him as an adult with first-degree murder while armed.

Police Chief Peter Newsham expressed condolences for those who knew Harrell.

"We know this closure will never bring Larry back, but we want to extend our condolences for his loss," he said.
