Team USA Sings ‘Happy Birthday' to Kevin Durant Two Months Too Early

Team USA sings ‘Happy Birthday’ to Kevin Durant two months early originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Kevin Durant’s birthday is September 29. Today is July 23. It is officially not his birthday today. However, that doesn’t mean that USA Olympians can’t have fun with one of the greatest hoopers of all time, does it?

Former Wizards center JaVale McGee captured the priceless moment as athletes bellowed ‘Happy Birthday’ to Durant in the tunnel ahead of the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony. Keep in mind, it wasn’t just the U.S. Men’s basketball team that serenaded their teammate, but seemingly athletes from across all Olympic sports ahead of Tokyo 2020. Take a look:

That Durant didn't appear entertained by the little stunt made it even more entertaining for the rest of those involved. Granted, we couldn’t tell if he was smiling or not due to the mask on his face, but his eyes tell enough of a story.

U.S. Men’s Basketball begins their quest for gold with a game vs. France on Sunday, July 25 at 8:00 a.m. Group A includes the United States, France, Iran and the Czech Republic. Team USA will be looking to win their fourth consecutive gold medal at the Olympic Games.
