Video Captures Sweet Tooth Squirrel Going Nuts for Reese's Cups in DC Tree

The little guy stuffed his face right through the wrapper to get at the chocolate-peanut buttery goodness inside

Why eat acorns when you can chow down on peanut butter cups?

One squirrel went nuts after getting his paws on a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup two-pack on Friday. He dragged it up a tree near 5th and M Streets Northwest in Washington, D.C. on Friday and just couldn't contain his excitement — Or his sweet tooth.

Having wrapped the Reese's in a candy lovers' embrace, Sweet Tooth Squirrel stuffed his furry face right through the package to get at the rich, peanut butter-chocolate goodness inside.

Well, we all know there's no wrong way to eat a Reese's.

G Bernard Wandel, who captured the video and shared it with News4, said the squirrel ran off after a few bites with the whole package still in his possession.

Based on the maniacal sniffing, we're not sure Sweet Tooth Squirrel had the self-control to bury that second peanut butter cup for safekeeping.

It remains a mystery how Sweet Tooth Squirrel got his paws on an intact, still-wrapped candy bar. So, Reese's fans of NoMa: Stay vigilant and hold onto your candy tightly, or Sweet Tooth Squirrel may strike again.
