All-Clear Given After Suspicious Package Found Near National Mall

D.C. police say they found no hazardous materials in a suspicious package discovered Sunday near the National Mall.

D.C. police closed several streets Sunday while investigating the package, which was found near 12th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, outside the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Smithsonian spokeswoman Linda St. Thomas said.

Constitution Avenue was closed from 9th to 14th Streets NW for a time.

Entrances to the African American History, American History and Natural History museums along Constitution Avenue were also closed.
