Suspect Sought in 9 BB Gun Shooting Incidents Across DC

In some cases, car windows were shot out. In other cases people were hit with BB gun pellets

Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who fired a BB gun in at least nine separate incidents Sunday night, injuring several people and damaging cars.

None of the victims' injuries were life-threatening, police said.

Most of the incidents took place in a two-hour span Sunday night, although police were not sure exactly when damage was done to a parked police cruiser.

D.C. police didn't have a description of a suspect or suspects, but they have an image of a vehicle of interest. They say a suspect took off in the vehicle after firing a BB gun in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue SE.

Police detailed the nine incidents as follows:

— A victim was walking in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue NE about 8:21 p.m. Sunday when he heard a window break and realized he had been hit by something. The victim's injuries were "consistent with projectiles from a BB gun," police said. He refused medical treatment.

— Then, at about 8:33 pm, a person sitting in a vehicle in the 100 block of 35th Street SE was approached by the suspect vehicle. Police say the suspect brandished a BB gun. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
