A 21-year-old man shot in the stomach by Anne Arundel County Police, who say he was armed, is in critical condition.
Police Lt. T.J. Smith said Sunday that the man remained critical but stable at Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center. He declined to release his name.
Police said Saturday that the man had pointed a gun at an officer inside a home in Crofton around 1 p.m. On Sunday, Smith said only that the man had "presented'' the gun, and that it's an "evolving situation.''
Police say the suspect's family had called police, because they were concerned he would hurt himself or others.
Smith says an officer was treated after seriously hurting his arm while using a pocketknife to cut the suspect's shirt off after the shooting.
