Another tornado warning previously was in effect for parts of Carroll, Frederick, Howard and Montgomery counties in the afternoon.

The Nationals' game against the Colorado Rockies was postponed in anticipations of the severe weather. The game will be made up during a split doubleheader on Wednesday.

Monday is the last hot and humid day in this heat wave. Afternoon highs reached the low 90s, and the heat index was once again around 100°.

Overnight temperatures will fall to the mid 60s to low 70s.

Heavy Rain Also Possible During Tuesday Morning Commute

Depending on when exactly the front crosses the area, Storm Team4 will be watching for the potential of some heavy rain tomorrow for Tuesday morning's commute. A flash flood emergency like we saw two weeks ago is not likely to repeat on Tuesday. However, some flooding is possible, so be prepared and monitor the forecast for the latest details Tuesday morning.

The steadiest and heaviest rain Tuesday will be during the morning. Some scattered showers are also possible through the late afternoon.

Otherwise, it will be much cooler with plenty of clouds and lower humidity. Temperatures Tuesday will stay mainly in the 70s, welcome relief from what we experienced over the weekend. Some late-day sun is possible, with comfortable weather Tuesday night.
