SILVER SPRING, Md. -- A woman was struck by a stray bullet while she was walking through her apartment Friday evening, police said.
The victim lives in a ground-level apartment in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace and was walking through her kitchen when a bullet came through her window and hit her.
Patrol officers in the area heard the gunshots and responded to the area. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is a Hispanic man who was wearing tan pants and a white shirt at the time, detectives said. He fired several random shots into the air just blocks away, police said.
