Spring Break Fully Restored for Prince George's Co. Schools After Snow Day Debacle

Public school students in Prince George's County, Maryland, will have a full week of spring break vacation.

School officials said on March 22 that spring break could be cut down to just one day off due to the snow days the school district needed to make up.

On Thursday night, the board of education voted to restore spring break and said schools will be closed the first week of April.

The county had called off school two days for the recent snow storm and lost four other days earlier in the year.

The school calendar only plans for five bad weather makeup days and the school year must end by June 15, the school system said in an earlier statement.
