“Snoop” Pearson Hasn't Turned to Crime: Lawyer

The attorney for actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson said she is going through tough times but has not turned to a life of crime.

The 30-year-old actress was convicted on a murder charge as a teenager before finding success in acting playing a Baltimore drug gang assassin in the HBO series "The Wire." She was arrested last week in a Baltimore drug raid.

Attorney Paul Gardner issued a statement Monday that included a comment from Pearson saying "I did not do anything. I am not selling drugs."

The statement said Pearson does not know the majority of the people arrested and the actress, while currently experiencing financial hardship, is working on several film projects and has not turned to crime.

Pearson was ordered held without bail Friday.
