Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Virginia Highway

No one was injured when a plane made an emergency landing onto a state highway Sunday afternoon in Culpeper County, Virginia, authorities said.

The plane, a single-engine Cessa, had three people aboard when its engine failed after taking off from the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport, according to a Virginia State Police press release.

The pilot, 47-year-old Hyunju V. Ko, of Gainesville, made an emergency landing onto Route 3 and then struck a utility pole shortly after 4 p.m. The plane then struck a fence.

Ko and the plane's two passengers, both juveniles, were not hurt.

The FAA responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation. No further details have been released.
