LOUISA, Va. -- A 24-year-old Virginia Beach man who exchanged nude photo messages with a 16-year-old girl has been sentenced to one year in prison, according to the Louisa County Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
Christopher Atkinson pleaded guilty Monday in Louisa Circuit Court to receiving the nude image of the Louisa County teenager.
According to prosecutors, Atkinson is the lead singer of the band Celebrity Gunfight and met the girl when she went to see his band perform last year.
Atkinson sent the girl a nude photo of himself and asked the girl to send him nude photos of herself. She sent him such an image in September.
A judge sentenced Atkinson to three years, all but one year suspended, for his conviction of solicitation of a minor using a communication device.
