More than a dozen people were injured in an early-morning apartment fire in Frederick, Maryland that displaced two dozen residents.
Firefighters were called to the Hickory Hill Apartments at 1465 Key Parkway about 2:15 a.m. Monday, and worked for about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Authorities say 10 occupants of the building suffered various injuries and were taken to a local hospital, and four were transported to area burn centers.
The blaze has displaced 24 residents and left six apartments uninhabitable. The American Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
The county fire marshal's office continues to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
