The 2017 Memorial Day Parade will roll through Washington Monday -- and that means road closures.
The following areas will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
- 7th Street between Independence Avenue, SW and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
- Constitution Avenue, NW between 6th Street to 9th Street, NW
The parade will start at 2 p.m. and will travel this route:
- Start at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW
- Proceed on Constitution Avenue, NW
- Disband between 18th and 23rd streets, on Constitution and Virginia avenues NW.
Overall, road closures will begin at about 1 p.m. and last until about 5 p.m. from 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW to 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue NW.
Motorists traveling in the area of this event may experience delays and should consider alternative routes, if possible.
