Metrobus Injuries on the Rise

Riding a Metrobus is apparently getting a bit more dangerous. More than 50 riders were hurt in September alone, according to the Washington Examiner; 151 passengers were injured throug the first nine months of this year. Just 114 passengers were hurt all of last year.

The chairman of Metro’s safety and security committee, Mortimer Downey, said he would ask for a detailed report on September’s injuries during a committee meeting tomorrow.

The news isn’t all bad for Metro. Injuries to rail riders are down this year. That may be largely in part because of last year’s deadly Red Line crash, which killed nine people and injured dozens of others.
