A major shake-up could be coming to the Prince George's County police department.
There are reports that Police Chief Roberto Hylton will be replaced when new county executive Rushern Baker takes office next week.
According to the Washington Post, Hylton was told about the upcoming move informally on Wednesday.
Hylton has held the position since 2008. In that time, crime across the county has gone down. However, problems within the police department have recently come to light. Earlier this week it was reported that at least 46 officers are either currently suspended or assigned to administrative duties because of violations or misconduct.
Baker had no comment for NBC Washington Thursday about Hylton's future. Representatives said he is considering who will be in his administration but does not plan to make a decision about Hylton anytime soon, NBC Washington's Derrick Ward reported.
