The remains of a soldier who had been missing since the Korean War are being returned to Richmond.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the remains of Army Cpl. Lindsey C. Lockett are scheduled to be flown to Richmond on Thursday.
The Department of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency says Lockett was part of a medical detachment with the 503rd Artillery Battalion 2nd Infantry Division. He and several other soldiers were captured on Dec. 1, 1950, when Chinese forces overwhelmed their unit.
Lockett died in a prisoner of war camp in 1951. He was 24. His remains were identified last year.
A memorial service is scheduled Saturday at New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield County.
