BRANDYWINE, Md. -- Human remains found last week near a residential driveway in Brandywine are not those of missing D.C. woman Pamela Butler.
Police were called to the wooded area Friday morning after a resident reported finding body parts near his driveway. The remains were taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore, which determined the woman was killed by a gunshot wound.
Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Dominique Diane Curtis, of southeast Washington. Investigators don't have a motive or a suspect in her death.
Police were looking into the possibility they might be the remains of Butler, a 47-year-old EPA program analyst from Northwest who was last scene the night of Feb. 12.
