Redskins Snap Several Skids In 31-6 Victory Over Eagles

I believe it was Abraham Lincoln that once said that it is "better to remain silent and be thought a Foles than to play and remove all doubt."

Okay, it was me, but the Washington Redskins, oddly enough, took advantage of facing a rookie quarterback making his first professional start -- not to mention the Philadelphia Eagles' general ineptitude -- in a 31-6 victory.

On the Eagles' opening drive, DeAngelo Hall picked off Nick Foles, which set up Robert Griffin III's six-yard touchdown pass to Darrel Young less than two minutes into the game. Washington never relinquished the lead as Griffin padded it with two long touchdown passes -- a 49-yarder to Aldrick Robinson and a 61-yarder to Santana Moss -- giving the Redskins their first victory since Oct. 14.

Griffin played perhaps his most impressive game to date, completing 14 of 15 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns. RGIII also rushed for 84 yards on 12 attempts.

Foles, on the other hand, never recovered from his early interception, throwing another on the Eagles' next possession. He finished 21-of-46 for 204 yards and the two picks. Foles also attempted one run, but didn't gain a yard. That's because only Foles rush in. I'm done. Foles me once, shame on you, right? I'm sorry.

The win snapped several 'Skins skids: a three-game overall losing streak, a four-game post-bye losing streak, a two-game post-bye losing streak to the Eagles and an eight-game losing streak to rookie quarterbacks that dated back all the way to 2005. Finally, we have something to be thankful for.

Speaking of, Washington has a short week ahead of it. Thursday, the Redskins will spend their Thanksgiving in Dallas against the Cowboys. That sucks.
