Redskins Preparing for Potential Impact of Hurricane Joaquin, Report Says

The NFL is monitoring whether Hurricane Joaquin will delay the Washington Redskins game this weekend, The Washington Post reports.

“We are monitoring the forecast and having dialogue with both teams,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Post about the Redskins and the Eagles.

The teams are scheduled to play at 1 p.m. Sunday at FedEx Field.

The National Hurricane Center upgraded Tropical Storm Joaquin to a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday morning. Some forecast models predict the storm will come inland and close to the D.C. area. Other models keep Joaquin off the Atlantic Seaboard.
