This might be the thing we all needed to see as stress builds in the days before the presidential election: A dog and pony show.
As in, a dog riding a pony.
In the middle of Washington, D.C.
That sight rolled into the Verizon Center Thursday as part of the Washington International Horse Show, a highly competitive horse show that features more than 500 top horses and riders. Several Olympic medal winners are among the participants.
Dally is a Jack Russell terrier, and Spanky is a minature horse. The Spokane, Washington duo -- who call each other best friends on their Facebook page -- hang out together and do shows together frequently.
They seem to be enjoying D.C.; their Facebook is full of pictures of them posing with D.C. mounted police and waiting in the show's breakfast line (which seems meant for humans).

Dally and Spanky will be performing for audiences through Sunday as part of the show.
"This is all about competition, but it's also about entertainment, and a lot of fun," said Vicki Lowell, president of the Washington International Horse Show. "And there's nothing more fun than Dally and Spanky here."
