Puppies Found; Dog-Napper Still on Loose

Puppies stolen from the backyard of a home

Authorities in Charles County, Md., have found two missing puppies, but are still looking for a dog-napper.

Two American bulldog puppies, a male and a female, were taken from the backyard of a home in the 2800 block of Holyhead Court in Waldorf on June 19.

The puppies were left behind a six-foot privacy fence of a residence at about 5 p.m. They were discovered missing at about 11 p.m.

A search of the property confirmed no means for them to escape.

The 9-week-old puppies, Stoney and Samson, had not been micro-chipped, but after a man saw media reports about the missing dogs, he called the Sheriff's Office and said he believed he had them after buying them from an unidentified seller last week.

The dogs were identified as the missing pooches, and were returned to their owner.  The theft remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information should call Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
