Prince George's Volunteers Spend a Day On Art

Volunteers in Prince George's County collaborated for a day of art at William Paca Elementary School in Landover in Saturday - creating a mural that will hang on the side of the building.

Students and community volunteers spent the day painting large, colorful rectangles that will be hung together to create the education-themed mural.

It was designed by Jose Piedra, a Prince George's County resident, artist and art teacher. He won a competition to design the mural.

The "Community Mural in a Day” project is part of Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker's  Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative. It was sponsored by the Prince George’s County Art in Public Places Program and WPGC 95.5 FM Radio.
