Previously Stabbed Horse Slashed Again

Teen remains in custody from previous incident

One of three horses stabbed in April in Reston was cut again over the weekend, according to Fairfax County Police.

Detectives believe the horse, Lucinda, was attacked between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday near Frying Pan Park, where the original stabbing incident happened on April 26. Lucinda's injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

A 17-year-old Herndon boy was charged in connection with the original slashings in May, and the teen is still incarcerated in the Juvenile Detention Center, according to police. The teen was charged with four felony counts of maiming animals, three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of unlawful entry after three horses, two goats, a calf and a chicken were cut in April and May.
