Montgomery County police are searching for a 24-year-old man missing after calling his father to say he'd missed his bus Sunday night.

Authorities said Achydam Monestime left his father's home on Beaker Court in Burtonsville, Maryland, around 11 a.m. Sunday. He was planning to take a bus from Greenbelt to Woodstock, in the suburban Baltimore area.

Monestime's father said that his son called him shortly before 9:30 p.m. to tell him that he'd missed the bus. Neither Monestime's father nor any family members have heard from him since then.

Monestime is described as African American, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes and a mustache.

Police and family say that they are concerned for Monestime's emotional and physical welfare.
