A man was arrested after an 8-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Sunday while waiting for her parent at a Woodbridge supermarket.
Ricardo Rodriguez, 32, allegedly approached a girl who was sitting in a chair, waiting for her parent to finish checking out at Todos Supermarket, police say.
Police say the girl's attacker pulled up her shirt and tried to unbutton her pants, police said.
The girl screamed and ran to her parent. The attacker ran away.
Officers responded about 5:50 p.m. and identified Rodriguez. They were able to find him a short time later and he was arrested Monday, according to police.
No one reported injuries, police said.
Rodriguez was charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault and is being held without bond.
