Police Investigating Shooting in NoMa Apartment Building

D.C. Police are investigating a shooting in the 100 block of M Street NE. Residents there said the shooting happened inside the Flats 130 apartment building.

Residents also said they had received a letter from the building's management that a man visiting the building had been shot.

Some took to Yelp and Reddit to discuss the shooting. Someone posted photos that appeared to show the aftermath of the incident, including blood spatters visible on the floor, near the elevator buttons and on the walls.

"Somebody got shot in the hall way last night. With a gun. And there's blood all over the walls and floor of the hallway," read one of the posts.

Police said the victim was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the hospital.

Flats 130 is one of the new apartment buildings that have been developed in D.C.'s gentrifying NoMa neighborhood. It was developed between 2010 and 2013, and features a Harris-Teeter grocery store on the ground floor.
