Police: Girl Stabs Boy at Blair High

Argument escalates into physical confrontation

SILVER SPRING, Md. -- A student was stabbed at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring Tuesday morning, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

A boy and a girl, both 16 years old, got into an argument about 9 a.m., police said, and the girl attacked the boy with a sharp-edged object, injuring his shoulder.

The boy apparently pushed the girl, who then approached him with "something in her hand," Montgomery County school system spokesman Steve Simon said.

The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The girl fled but was arrested on a nearby Metro bus. She is charged as a juvenile with second-degree assault.

No other students were injured, according to police, who are still investigating.
