Maryland Man Arrested in Casino Parking Lot Robbery

Police say they've arrested a man believed to have robbed a couple at gunpoint as they sat in a car outside the Maryland Live! Casino over the weekend.

Errick Lewis, 28, of Temple Hills is charged with two counts of armed robbery and other offenses in the robbery, which occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Saturday in the casino's parking garage for in Hanover, Md.

The male victim told police that he had left the casino and was sitting in his parked car with a female companion when a man approached and demanded money from him. The victim complied, and the robber left the parking garage in a black Nissan Altima, police said.

The couple was not injured in the incident.

Anne Arundel County Police say they got a tip Sunday about the whereabouts of the car used by the robber, and found it at a home in District Heights, Md. They pulled over two vehicles that drove away and then brought in Lewis for questioning.

Police say Lewis admitted to the robbery and directed police to the location of the pellet gun he used. The gun was recovered.

Lewis is also facing two counts of robbery, two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of theft, along with a charge of using a firearm in a violent/felony crime.

He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
