Police: 84-Year-Old Man Stabbed After Interrupting Burglary

An 84-year-old man was stabbed after interrupting a burglary in Alexandria, Virginia, Friday afternoon, police said.

An elderly couple entered their Northridge home in the 400 block of Jackson Place to find a burglar before 4 p.m.

The man was stabbed by the burglar.

The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Police are looking for a black man in his 40s standing 6-feet-2-inches tall with a medium build and medium-to-dark complexion. He was unshaven and had a slight mustache. He wore a brown, waist-length jacket; black pants and a black wool cap. He was seen about 3:45 p.m. at East Braddock Road and Mount Vernon Avenue.
