From June Fletcher, whose husband took this picture: "Carper's Farm Way, the road passing over Difficult Run at the entrance to the Carper's Farm neighborhood off Route 7 in Vienna, Va., has collapsed. It is the only access road for the community, so about 130 households are now trapped and isolated. Although some commuters parked their cars at Crowell or in the parking lot of Colvin Mill, others (like my family) were at home during the storm so we have no way in or out of the community -- and won't until the road is repaired. That probably won't happen for days, as the flood waters are still rising."

Amateur photo taken 9/7/2011. We live in Ashburn and in all the rain and the complaints of rain by adults, we pulled into the garage and my daughter ran outside to take in the rain. After she danced around in the rain, I caught a photo of her (from the garage) as she put her arms out and opened her mouth to taste the rain. I saw this as a bright spot in a dreary, rainy week. The blessings of children and their carefree lives.
