Man Struck by Red Line Train at Cleveland Park Station

The man who placed himself in the path of an arriving Red Line train during the Monday morning rush is expected to survive, fire officials say.

Crews rescued the man after he was struck at the Cleveland Park station.

The man intentionally placed himself in the path of an arriving train, Metro Transit Police say.

Trains shared a track between Friendship Heights and Dupont Circle for nearly an hour after the incident, but Metro says normal service has resumed.
