Person Struck by Red Line Train at Metro Center

A person was struck by a Red Line train at the Metro Center station Thursday morning. 

Firefighters pulled the person from beneath the train, and the victim was taken to the hospital. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening, fire officials said on Twitter. 

Rail service was suspended for about an hour between the Farragut North and Gallery Place stations. Trains then single-tracked between Farragut North and Judiciary Square for a time.
