Officials in Maryland say that a person is dead after being struck by a train early Monday.
The person was hit just after 5 a.m. at Lanham Severn Road and Carter Avenue, the Prince George's County fire department said.
The person was pronounced dead.
Some Amtrak and MARC trains were delayed.

No other details were immediately available about the death, including how the person got onto the tracks.
