Smoke has been reported in a Metro tunnel at the Pentagon City station.
The Arlington County fire department is responding.
Blue Line and Yellow Line trains are no longer single-tracking between the Pentagon City and National Airport stations, but riders should expect residual delays in both directions, Metro said just before 8 p.m.
Some service on the two lines initially was suspended.
