Pedestrian Killed on Beltway, Traffic Slowed: Officials

Police closed two lanes of the Beltway's Inner Loop after officials say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor trailer Tuesday.

Chopper4 footage shows traffic squeezing by on the two open lanes between I-95 and New Hampshire Avenue.

Drivers faced delays of 35 minutes or longer as as Prince George's Fire and Maryland State Police investigate.

Prince George's Fire officials warned drivers to expect major delays.

Police did not say why the victim was on the Beltway or release any information identifying the victim.
