Pedestrian Injured in SE DC Hit-and-Run

Police are searching for the driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in Southeast Washington Thursday morning. 

The victim was struck in the eastbound lanes of Suitland Parkway at Firth Sterling Avenue just before 5 a.m., police say. 

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. 

Suitland Parkway was closed for about an hour Thursday, but it has since reopened.
