Parents Accuse Teachers of Taking Money From Special Needs Students' Work-Study Account

The staff at Rock Terrace School in Rockville, Md., is accused of taking money from the students' work-study account.

Several parents claim the money their students earned was deposited into an account at a teachers credit union. The parents said they did not know the account existed until recently. And they said cash was withdrawn by the staff, and it's not clear where the money went.

Montgomery County Public Schools released a statement saying, "While these are just allegations at this point, we are taking the matter very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation. Appropriate action will be taken based on the facts of the case."
