Online Calculator Lets You Estimate Savings by Teleworking

Next week is National Telework Week -- yes, there really is such a thing. Financial website WalletHub.com has launched a new Telework Savings Calculator to help you figure out what you could save by working from home.

Granted, whether you can telework usually isn't up to you; it's a decision made with your company and your manager. But if you can't help being just a little bit curious, you can enter information about your vehicle, your commute and how many days you work to estimate your potential savings.

On average, D.C. teleworkers could save more than $14,000 dollars a year, the greatest savings nationwide, says WalletHub.

Maryland's not far behind, coming in third in the nation; Marylanders could save more than $11,000 per year, says the site. Telework savings for Virginians is close to the national average, $10,000-$11,000 per year, according to WalletHub.
