Drivers should expect more traffic than normal on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge this weekend as the Dew Tour skateboarding event is drawing thousands of people to Ocean City through Sunday, Maryland transportation officials said.
The Maryland Transportation Authority said it will implement two-way traffic operations, weather permitting, to help alleviate delays. The agency also encourages drivers to travel at off-peak hours.
The best times to travel to the Eastern Shore are Thursday and Friday after 10 p.m. or Friday before 10 a.m., according to the MTA. On Saturday, the best time to drive is before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. And on Sunday, the best time to drive is before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
